JWZ worked with NDOT, NPWA, and McCarran International Airport to design the first transportation corridor in Las Vegas to have landscaping.  With a water efficient theme, all plant material used is drought tolerant.  Tall palm trees were grouped at overpasses to diminish the visual impact of the overhead structure, and to provide travelers with advance knowledge of approaching interchanges.  The computer irrigation system was designed to allow for flexibility in the hydro-zoning of various plan groupings.
